Chefs
really are the new rock stars. Need proof? Check out the
cooking stage at this weekend's FlavorFest,

demos from Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill, Topolobampo), David
Burke (Primehouse) and Steve Chiappetti (Viand). The two-day
fest, sponsored by Whole Foods and Horizon Organic, also
includes kids activities, a farmers market, even live music
(Cracker, Anna Fermin, Flock of Seagulls). Aug. 25, 11AM-9PM.

SHOP
NOW!
If
you obsess over your stilettos as much as we do, then we've
got a secret sole stash just for you. Steven Lowenthal, owner
of the spanking-new boutique Via Firenzi, knows all about
shoes. And fortunately for us, the owners of the top Florence
shoe factories that make Gucci, Louboutin, and Prada know him.
Translation: He has access to surplus shoes from these
exclusive Italian plants. So his black ankle-strap platforms
with the cool zipper up the back may not have the fancy-pants
designer label but it's the real deal!

PARTY
NOW!
Hey,
cowboy, mosey your fashionable little self over to Macy's
Glamorama 2007, held in the Loop. The annual live music
and runway bash is going country this year with Muzik Mafia
(country chart-toppers Big & Rich, Gretchen Wilson and
Cowboy Troy) as the headliners. But in between all that twang
and pop, Macy's flaunts fall looks from Marc Jacobs, Temperley
London, Calvin Klein, Alberta Ferretti, and many more. Just
because they're going rural, doesn't mean you have to dress
the part: stilettos (not spurs and chaps) please. Aug. 24,
8PM; $50-$1,000.

of the theater-hipsters, The Neo-Futurists, just so happens to
play in a theater lobby bar. So go ahead, relish that cold
one. Aug. 23, 8PM; $15.
